In the early 90s we bought a miniature table with padded paddles from a Sharper Image store, which we loved playing on/with. But my daughter took it to college with her an left it there. Sharper Image no longer carries such tables; where can I get a good one, and the padded paddles that allow one to hit with force but still control the ball well?

I have been the long island ping pong champ! You are definitely in the right on this one. I do it all the time facing my opponents, its a great way to catch'em off guard. Kinda like pokemon...

Hi Bald Eagle Al,
If the ball is returned without it hitting the table first you are safe. As long as the server hits his/her side first you are free to return the serve before it hits your side.

I played tournaments from about 1967 to 1972 than I stopped playing for about 30 years. I know I will never be the same but I enjoy the sport and need to lose weight. I started playing again about two years ago. I have no rating but would estimate it around 1700. So, the spin of the ball can be strengthened.
